LOCAL BUTCHERS TO APPOINT THEIR FIRST EVER PIE MINISTER

An award-winning local butcher’s shop in Wolverhampton has begun its search to elect Wolverhampton’s first ever ‘Pie Minister’. Q Guild butchers, Robinsons of Tettenhall, has launched a regional quest to find the city’s ultimate pie loving leader.

The competition, which runs from the 5th– 10th of March, comes as part of celebrations for British Pie Week – nationally created to advocate the best of British pies.

To be in with the chance of becoming the Pie Minister, and winning a year’s supply of Robinsons pork pies, all customers have to do is find a ‘very British looking coin’ hidden in one of Robinsons famous pork pies.

Residents of the city can also apply to become a Robinsons Member of Pieliment, by submitting their pie manifesto over on the Robinsons Facebook page. Elected Pieliment members will be rewarded with one free medium pork pie.

Steve Robinson, owner of Robinsons Butchers & Deli, said “British Pie Week is a fantastic celebration of some of the best British products. We wanted to mark the occasion and give our customers something fun to get involved with.â€

“We look forward to electing and meeting our Robinsons Pieliment cabinet and can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.â€

Robinsons Butchers & Deli is a longstanding business in Wolverhampton, winning over 15 awards for their excellent produce, including a renowned Smithfield Award for their Huntsman’s Pie last month. The shop has also recently expanded to open its very own bistro, Seats at Robinsons, showcasing both its own and other local produce within the menu.
