North Eastern butchers to compete in finals of National BBQ Awards
Four Q Guild butchers have made it through to the finals of the National BBQ Awards, which are held annually by the prestigious Q Guild of Butchers to celebrate the very best butchery items for barbecuing.
Q Butchers from across the northeast were invited to enter the regional round of heats to determine who would have their products represented in the six award categories (naked rump steak, pork sausage, speciality sausage, beef burger, speciality burger and overall barbecue product) at the final in St Albans, Hertfordshire on 13 May 2018.
Four butchers came out on top; won the pork sausage and naked rump steak category; won with its beef burger; meanwhile in the speciality categories Newcastle`s won the speciality sausage (with a Smoked Garlic and Chilli) and speciality burger category (with its Maple Bacon burger); whilst the speciality BBQ product category went to in Holmfirth (with its Peruvian Kofta).
The four regional winners will now go on to the finals to compete in their categories nationally and for the overall prize of Supreme Champion.
The Q Guild currently has over 100 members, and is a seal of excellence representing an elite group of the finest quality independent meat retailers in Britain.
