Blacker Hall Farm Shop was opened in October 1999 by John Garthwaite, with the intention of selling home-reared, high quality meat from the family farm direct to the public. It is now run by John`s son, Edward, and his wife, Cheryl, and comprises an expert Butchery counter, a Delicatessen, Greengrocery, Wine Loft and an on-site Cafe and Gift Shop.
Blacker Hall Farm was awarded Great Taste Shop of the Year in September 2016 and was described by the judges as a "family-run enterprise full of Yorkshire charm". At Blacker Hall Farm, we make 80% of our award-winning produce on-site, and supplement this with food from other great Yorkshire producers, growers and farmers.
More than 60 individual product awards in the last 3 years confirms the quality of food on offer, all prepared by our craft bakers and expert butchers. We pride ourselves on the quality, flavour and succulence of our home and locally reared meat.

Our Delicatessen offers cooked meats, quiches, pies, freshly prepared seasonal salads and a range of continental meats and olives.
The Barn Cafe aims to showcase the great Yorkshire produce that we sell. It is open seven days a week serving freshly prepared food and drinks using all the seasonal ingredients and meats that are also available to buy from The Farm Shop.
