C. Lidgate's General Manager Steven Owens selected to join Team GB / UK Lions Squad

C Lidgate's general manager Steven Owens has been selected to join the UK Lions squad for World Butchers Challenge in Paris 2025 as he joins eighteen fellow compatriots from all around the country after being chosen from dozens of ambitious and highly skilled applicants.

WIth 27 years of experience at the block of a number of well-established and prestigious craft practitioners (including Fortum and Masons where he was selected from 700 employees to be Employee of the Year), Steven is gifted in both product display and product development having been a key player in the Smithfield Diamond Award winning products.

We wish him all the very best in the months ahead as he prepares to put himself forward to do battle on the biggest butchery stage in the world. The three-day competition, also known as the Butchery Olympics, will feature butchers from 15 countries around the globe in a series of high-level challenges designed to test the skills and experience of the best in the business.
