Rogers and Son Butchers- Gain Q Guild Status.

Rogers & Son Butchers awarded Q Guild membership

Rogers & Son Butchers in Carmarthen, West Wales, has been awarded membership of the Butchers Q Guild, further boosting the national membership to almost 130-strong.

Rogers & Son Butchers was opened in Lammas Street, Carmarthen, in June, 2012, by husband and wife Chris and Colette Rogers. Chris previously worked at an award-winning Pembrokeshire butchers for 14 years, while his predecessors have a rich heritage of butchery – his grandfather`s family ran a number of butcher`s shops across the Rhymney Valley in the post-war years.

The shop has become busier year on year and has already made its mark in the industry awards arena, having three times been shortlisted in Butchers Shop of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014, before becoming Welsh Butchers Shop of the Year in 2015.

Chris Rogers said: `We were keen to join the Q Guild and become part of a UK-wide team of like-minded butchers who have the same passion within the trade as ourselves, as well as sharing information and expertise, and gaining access to new product ideas.

`We also look forward to entering the Q Guild`s annual product evaluation competitions in the hope of winning yet more accolades for the shop.`

Q Guild manager Gordon Newlands said: `We warmly welcome Rogers & Son Butchers to our ranks, further strengthening our representation in Wales. Like all our members they are at the top of their game and are keen to utilise the Guild membership for ideas and innovation.

`We look forward to their participation in regional meetings, social and product evaluation events. It is a journey we feel they will learn much from.`
