Smithfield Awards Special Guest appointed MBE in King’s New Year Honours 2024

Q Guild sent their warm congratulations to last year’s Smithfield Awards special guest Jeremy Lee on his being appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the food industry. Described in London Restaurant website Hotdinners as “one of the most well-regarded chefs in London by both the public and notably by other big-name chefs”, Jeremy was joined by Radio 4 The Food Programme’s Sheila Dillon and The Telegraph’s food writer Xanthe Clay to select the Smithfield Coronation Award winner which went to Owen Taylor & Sons for their Steak & Ale Pie. By way of thanks, Q Guild donated £4000 to StreetSmart on his behalf - a homeless charity close to Jeremy's heart.
